What Routinely stores

Routinely stores your routine names, schedules, labels, optional links, routine and check-in notes, scratchpad text, reminder and appearance settings, completion history, and saved-page titles, URLs, and reopening times.

This data is kept in the extension's local storage in your browser profile. Routinely does not operate a server for it and does not synchronize it to a developer cloud service.

How browser information is used

When you save a page, Routinely reads that page's title and URL. It checks open-tab URLs locally to show linked reminders on the appropriate page and reuse matching tabs. Selected page titles and URLs are stored with your saved pages or routines. Routinely does not maintain a general log of every page you visit.

Floating reminders and navigation explanations appear on ordinary HTTP and HTTPS pages. The extension does not scrape article bodies, read website form fields, or access website cookies. Protected browser pages cannot host the floating panel. Incognito tabs are excluded from page-saving and tab matching.

Check-in records show your routine activity. Notes save when their field loses focus. Hiding notes in floating reminders does not delete existing notes.

Sharing and network activity

Routinely does not send your routines, notes, saved pages, or tab metadata to the maintainer, advertisers, analytics providers, or data brokers. The extension has no account, telemetry, advertising, or tracking service. It does not sell user data or use it for creditworthiness or lending decisions.

Opening or scheduling a webpage contacts that website normally. Its privacy practices apply to its requests, cookies, and content. Backups and CSV exports save files to your chosen download location; you decide whether to share them.

Information you voluntarily submit through GitHub issues is handled by GitHub under its privacy statement. Public issues are visible to others, so avoid including private notes or backup files.

Storage, retention, and your control

Your data remains in your browser profile until you delete it, replace it with an imported backup, clean up older history in Settings, remove the extension, or clear the profile. Deleting a routine preserves its historical check-ins. History cleanup removes eligible older finished records and preserves pending items.

The extension does not add encryption to local browser storage or exported files. Protect your profile and backups using your device's access controls. Browser or device backups may preserve copies separately.

You can export and restore a JSON backup and export check-in history as CSV. Back up before uninstalling or moving to another profile. Routinely cannot recover data from a developer server because no such copy is kept.

Limited use

Routinely uses browser information only for its disclosed routine and saved-page reminder features. Its use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. It does not transfer your extension data to third parties or give the maintainer access to your local data.

This website

This site is hosted on GitHub Pages. It uses no analytics scripts, advertising, third-party fonts, cookies, or browser storage. GitHub logs visitors' IP addresses for security purposes; see GitHub Pages data collection. This hosting activity is separate from the extension, which keeps your routine data local.

Changes and contact

This policy will be updated if Routinely's data practices change. For questions, contact the maintainer through the Routinely support page.
