Overview
Sail is an offline, single-player sailing simulation for iPhone and iPad. It does not require an account and does not connect to a Sail server. We do not collect personal information, gameplay data, diagnostics, analytics, advertising identifiers, precise location, or any other data from the app.
No account. No analytics. No ads. No tracking. No data collected.
Information stored on your device
To make the game work, Sail stores voyage progress, game state, settings, language choice, achievements, and a small snapshot used by the Sail widget. This information remains in the app’s local storage or its shared app-and-widget container on your device.
We cannot access this information. It is not transmitted to us or used to identify you.
Local notifications
With your permission, Sail schedules local notifications for events in your voyage. The simulation calculates these events on your device. Sail does not use remote push notifications and no gameplay information is sent to a notification server.
You can change notification permission at any time in the iOS Settings app.
Third parties and tracking
The app contains no third-party analytics, advertising, attribution, or tracking SDKs. It does not sell or share data and does not track you across apps or websites.
Apple may process information independently when you download or use apps through its services. That processing is governed by Apple’s own privacy policies and is outside Sail’s control.
This website
This website has no analytics, advertising, contact forms, or cookies set by us. It is hosted by GitHub Pages. GitHub may process technical request information needed to serve the site under the GitHub General Privacy Statement.
Retention and your control
Local game information remains on your device while the app is installed. You can stop notifications in iOS Settings. Deleting Sail removes its locally stored app data under the normal data removal behavior provided by iOS.
Because we do not receive your information, there is no account or server-side personal data for us to retrieve, correct, or delete.
Children’s privacy
Sail does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If Sail’s data practices or this policy change, this page will be updated and a new effective date will appear above.
