Common questions
01 How do I begin a voyage?
Open Sail and follow the opening briefing. Choose your language and notification preference, inspect the boat, then weigh anchor. The voyage runs in real time even while the app is closed.
02 Why am I not receiving notifications?
In iOS Settings, open Notifications, choose Sail, and confirm that Allow Notifications is enabled. Sail uses only local notifications. Changing course or sail plan recalculates the upcoming schedule.
03 Why is the game silent?
Check the music setting inside Sail and your device’s Silent Mode. Sail’s audio is intentionally unobtrusive: it obeys Silent Mode and stays quiet when other audio, such as a podcast, is already playing.
04 How do I add the Sail widget?
Touch and hold an empty area on the Home Screen, choose Edit and Add Widget, then search for Sail. Open the app and begin a voyage first so the widget has a current watch report to display.
05 Can I change the language?
Yes. Open Sail’s settings and choose a language. Sail is available in English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese.
06 How do I erase my voyage data?
Deleting Sail from your device removes its locally stored game data under iOS’s normal app-removal behavior. Reinstalling starts a fresh copy. This cannot be undone, and there is no cloud backup or server account from which to restore a voyage.
07 Does Sail need an internet connection?
No. The simulation, world data, star catalogue, handbook, music, and notifications are all contained in the app and run locally.
STILL OFF COURSE?
